With the holiday season in full swing, you’ll need to be ready for all the holiday photos – and this year, for video get-togethers as well. Makeup for photos is a little different than what you’d wear day-to-day, so it’s important to follow a few simple tips to help you look gorgeous in all those holiday photos.
Get a healthy glow. If you tend to look a bit pale in photos, give yourself a little extra color and glow with bronzer. Apply a bit around the outside of your face to add that healthy glow.
Cut back on the shine. If your photos always make your face look shiny and sweaty, you can calm the shine with matte blotting powder. Apply it shortly before you pose for photos to get rid of that look of excess oil or sweat.
Give your brows a little extra pop. If you’re like most of us, you spend a lot of time making your brows look perfect, but sometimes those efforts just don’t show up in pictures. Plan on a little extra brow liner to give your eyes that extra pop that looks great in photos.
Add blush for cheek color. With everyone wearing face masks these days, it’s generally recommended that you avoid makeup in the mask area to prevent breakouts. But if you’re planning holiday photos or a Zoom get-together with friends or family, add blush for the day to give you more color for the camera. Choose a shade that looks natural for your skin tone.
Use shimmer strategically. We all love shimmering makeup, especially for the holidays. But in photos, the sparkles can catch camera light in the wrong way. Be strategic about where you use sparkly makeup – the trick is using it in areas you want to highlight, like the top of your cheekbones or the outside corners of your eyes.
